Customs Export issues notices to two companies to recover taxes

KARACHI: The Model Customs Collectorate Export has issued notices to Rabia Hosiery and Export and Shamim Chemicals in order to recover outstanding dues and fine.

As per details, a Karachi-based company Rabia Housiery was issued final notice to pay Rs 1.424 million in wake of duty/taxes. The company got cleared 16 consignments during current year and made short-payment of duty/taxes leviable on the consignments. It may be mentioned here that as many as two notices were issued to the company but it remained reluctant to clear the dues.

The Customs Export has directed the company through final notice to clear the taxes within 14 days in order to avoid duty/taxes.

On the other hand, the customs issued notice to Shamim Chemicals directing it to pay evaded duty/taxes amounting to Rs 800,000 along with Rs 110,000 fine. The company had evaded duty/taxes by misusing SRO 564 on five consignments. It has been asked to clear dues within seven days.
