Customs Export issues show-cause notice to recover evaded tax amount

KARACHI: The Model Customs Export issued a show-cause notice to M/s Shafiq Garments and Knit Wear, located at Sharfi Goth, Karachi for the recovery of evaded tax amount.

According to details, the company evaded tax money by using wrong PCT Heading to get clearance of a consignment of ladies fabric in November 2016.

During the scrutiny of clearance documents, the customs authorities found that the company evaded Rs134,000 duty and taxes in the above said consignment.

After finding the fraud in duty payment, the customs authorities issued a show-cause notice to the company and ordered to submit the payable amount within fortnight.

Whereas, the customs authorities issued another show-cause notice to M/s Shams Al-Raza Bengal and ordered to submit the evaded tax amount of Rs96,000 within a week.
