Customs Export issues show-cause notices to recover evaded tax

KARACHI: The Model Customs Export issued show cause notices to two companies, M/s Zobia Garments and Knitwear and M/s Yamin Plastic and Export, involved in tax evasion.

According to details, a show-cause notice to M/s Zobia Garments and Knitwear, located at Malir for the recovery of evaded tax amount. The company evaded tax money by using wrong PCT Heading to get clearance of a consignment of silk fabric in Decmber 2016.

During the scrutiny of clearance documents, the customs authorities found that the company evaded Rs222,000 duty and taxes in the above said consignment.

After finding the fraud in duty payment, the customs authorities issued a show-cause notice to the company and ordered to submit the payable amount within fortnight.

Whereas, the customs authorities issued another show-cause notice to M/s Yamin Plastic and Export, located at Mir Pur Khas, and ordered the authorities to submit the evaded tax amount of Rs80,000 within fortnight.
