KARACHI: The Model Customs Collectorate Export has issued notice to Somroo Fertilisers and Export for recovery of outstanding amount, besides serving a notice on Grooming Tools directing it to pay imposed fine of Rs 110,000.
Sources said that the fertilisers company has been issued notice on non-payment of Rs 2.267 million in wake of customs duty, FED and other taxes on the import of 16 consignments cleared during January and February 2016.
The department had issued various notices to the said company but it remained reluctant to clear outstanding amount and now it has been warned to deposit said amount within 14 days to avoid legal actions.
On the other hand, a Thatta-based company, Grooming Tools, was asked to pay fine of Rs 110,000. The fine was imposed on tax evasion of Rs 965,000 while importing six consignments. The company had attempted to take undue benefits by miscuing different SROs.
