Customs Export to disburse rebate claims worth Rs52b in upcoming days

KARACHI: The Model Customs Collectorate-MCC Export has started to prepare the list of the exporters whose rebate claims are due for last couple of years, it is learnt here.

According to details, the additional collectors and deputy collectors of the Collectorate while following the directives has started to compile the list of the exporters whose rebate claims are outstanding since long.

The sources informed Customs Today that the customs authorities have prepared the rebate claims’ list worth Rs25billion, adding that a list of around 265 exporters is to be completed through which total amount of Rs52billion of rebate claims are to be returned in upcoming days.

It is pertinent to mention here that the FBR top authorities on the directives of Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar has already asked the Collector-MCC Export to prepare the list and return the rebate claims to the exporters.

“Right now, the MCC-Export has returned the rebate claims of Rs330billions to the exporters in a year adding that further Rs52billion is more to be disbursed before the end of third quarters”, sources added.
