Customs Exports directs Zunair Enterprises to pay evaded tax, duties within two weeks

KARACHI: The Customs-Export branch directed the management of M/s Zunair Enterprises to deposit evaded tax and duty amounting to Rs 2.2 million.

Sources told Customs Today that during scrutiny of import data it was revealed that M/s Zunair Enterprises availed undue concessions and benefits by importing different consignments of magnum rods. The company imported six consignments of these rods during January and February.

Sources said that Ms Zunair Enterprises availed these concessions by using wrong PCT heading and SRO 566 and caused a loss of Rs2.2 billion to national kitty.

After detecting the tax evasion authorities of Customs Export branch directed the management of M/s Zunair Enterprises to deposit the evaded tax and duties amount within fourteen days to avoid legal action. Failing will led to attachment of bank accounts and properties.
