Customs Export starts crackdown against tax evaders

KARACHI: The Model Customs Export started a crackdown against tax evaders from previous month and in this regard M/s Ijaz Kids Wear deposited its arrears.

Customs officials told Customs Today that the department issued final notice to the company a few days ago. The company cleared its three consignments of kids wears by misusing SRo556.

It was revealed during the audit the company involved in the tax evasion of Rs 153,000. Customs export warned the company in the notice to deposit tax amount with in fourteen days otherwise department take legal action against it. In this regard company submitted its arrear amount yesterday.

In another action the department issued show cause notice to M/s Daood Steel Company located in the area of Hyderabad. The said company cleared their steel consignments with the misused of SRO. It reveled during the audit of the company it is defaulter of Rs 100,000. The department warned the company through notice to submit answer in 7 days.
