Customs Exports serves notices on three factories to recover evaded amount

KARACHI: The Customs Exports has issued the show cause notices to three factories in order to collect the evaded tax amounts. The customs authorities served notices on M/s Muniza Knitwear Karachi, Variety Garments Karachi and Baksh Textile and Export at Thatha.

M/s Muniza Knitwear used wrong PCT headings to get its net fabric consignment cleared in June and caused the national exchequer a loss of Rs12.6million. Checking the data of June, the Customs Exports found the company using wrong PCT heading. After finding the tax evasion, the Customs authorities issued the show-cause notice No: 172/2017 to recover the evaded tax amount.

Meanwhile, the Customs Exports detected another tax evasion by M/s Variety Garments in a consignment of silk fabric items in June. The customs authorities, after a careful investigation, issued a show-cause notice to the company and asked them for submitting the evaded tax amount within fortnight.

Baksh Textile and Export at Thatha committed a tax evasion of Rs1.2million in June. The customs authorities issued a show-cause notice No: 173/2017 to recover the evaded tax amount.
