Customs Faisalabad seizes ceramic tiles worth Rs 5.4 million

FAISALABAD: The MCC Faisalabad has seized 14157 cartons of ceramic tiles. The market value of the seized ceramic tiles are Rs 5.4 million while they  involve duty and taxes of thousands of rupees.

According to details, Collector Customs Tauseef Ahmed Qureshi received information regarding the smuggling of ceramic tiles. Soon after receiving the information, he formed a raiding party, which include Fareedud Din Masood (superintendent), Malik Javed Iqbal, Mohammad Tahir Iqbal (SIO) and Masood Iqbal, Ghulam Ghous, M. Aslam (sepoys).

The raiding team intercepted a vehicle at the office of intelligence and investigation Customs and seized the ceramic tiles.

They asked accuse person Sohail Mehboob  son of Mehboob Elahi, who is resident of Satellite Town, Sargodha, to produce legal documents regarding possession of ceramic tiles, but he failed to produce the same.

After his failure, the raiding team seized the ceramic tiles while further proceedings are in progress.
