LAHORE: The Pakistan Railway Police, Anti-Narcotics Force and Pakistan Customs recovered a huge quantity of heroin during checking of the train at Wagah border on Friday.
According to sources of Customs Today, the Customs team recovered a huge quantity of heroin from the Indian bound goods train. The heroin worth Rs 250 million was technically hidden in pressure cylinders of goods coach.
Meanwhile, the driver, guard and assistant diver have been taken into custody from the spot for further investigations. The guard is identified as Kamran, a resident of Lahore, assistant driver as Liaqat Ali and driver as Faisal Imran. The detained persons are shifted to unidentified location for further investigations.
It is pertinent to mention here that this is a second attempt of smuggling within this week. Earlier, the Pakistan Railway Police spokesperson told that three kilogram of heroin was confiscated by a team of Custom officials, Anti-Narcotics Force and Pakistan Railway Police during checking of a goods train.
