According to travel documents, the passenger arrived from Dubai by newly introduced Emirates Airlines Flight EK-618. Observing some abnormalities of his behaviour, the Customs conducted a thorough search of the passenger’s suitcase and recovered gold jewellery weighing 1350 grams which the passenger had artfully concealed in rechargeable batteries of two emergency lights and an electric fan. The recovered gold jewellery has been valued at Rs 5 million.

Consequently, the accused passenger who had visited Dubai twice in a month has been arrested and a prosecution case under Customs Act, 1969 has been registered against him.
