LAHORE: The customs authorities have seized cellphones, hard disks and Black Berry play books worth more than Rs 4 million at Allama Iqbal International Airport here.
As per details, the customs officials intercepted a passenger coming from Dubai through Airblue flight at around 8:30pm.
Upon search, the officials recovered 222 cellphones, 806 hard disks and 10 Black Berry play books from his luggage.
Official sources informed that the passenger tried to make it a successful attempt to leave the airport with smuggled goods.
The sources said that the passenger had almost made it to the gate by using green channel, however, a deputy collector stopped the passenger and brought him back to the customs counter and examined his baggage.
At which the customs officials found Rs 4 million worth non-customs paid articles, the sources said, adding that the customs authorities had arrested the passenger.
