Customs generates Rs 16.205m through auction of ND goods, vehicles

ISLAMABAD: The auction cell of Customs Collectorate has earned Rs16.205 million through auction of non duty paid vehicles and various goods on 26th April 2018.

Assistant Collector Majid Hussain Gaad told Customs Today that people from Islamabad and Rawalpindi were participated in the auction which was organized by customs along with government authorized Alvi Auctioneers.

He said that the different type of vehicles were sold Rs.9.705 million while Rs.0.95 million of income tax was applied of said vehicles, he added that 25% out of total amount was deposit in cash on the spot whereas rest of total amount have to paid within seven working days into the account of MCC Islamabad.

He said that various goods were sold during auction in amount of Rs.5.03 million. The total amount earned including IT against auction of seized goods was Rs.5.53 million. It was told that auction cell have held two auction of vehicles and goods during current month of April FY17-18.

He said that through both auctions which were held during current month the auction cell earned Rs.25.69 million which is not usual amount, he added that the auction held on 12th April 2018 the auction cell earned Rs9.485 million.
