Customs generates Rs11.89m revenue through seizure in third week of January

ISLAMABAD: The Customs Anti Smuggling Organization (ASO) Islamabad collected revenue Rs11.890 million by seizure of 8 huge consignments as well as impounded 4 vehicles during third week of January of FY2016-17.

According to details, during the above said period the performance of ASO was good regarding generating revenue.

Deputy Collector Ansir Anis said that during third week of January FY16-17 the ASO impounded 4 offending vehicle including a Truck bearing registration No: C-8660, Suzuki registration No: LES-15-1735, a public transport bus bearing registration No: LES-15-687 and another truck bearing registration No: LES-14-1436 of worth Rs4 million.

She added that the ASO also seized various goods including fabric, baby diapers, DVD-R, lead ingot, press scrape, local scrape, bed sheets fabric polyester, tyres 165-70R12 and 195-65-15,14, ball bearing, cigarettes, clutch plates, break shoe and shock absorber of worth Rs7.8 million during the above said period.

Ansir Anis said that the cases were registered against offenders under the Customs Act 1969 and further investigations are in progress.
