Customs generates Rs9.62m through auction of goods & vehicles

ISLAMABAD: Collectorate of Customs sold 17 lots of smuggled goods and non-duty paid vehicles through public auction and earned amount of Rs9.62 million.

Assistant Collector Majid Hussain Gadd while talking with Customs Today said that through this auction which was held on 21st of February 2019 at the premises of State Ware House (SWH), four non-duty paid vehicles and multiple seized goods comprising foreign origin confiscated fabric, tea, tyres, makeup kits and auto-parts were presented.

He said that large number of people attended the public auction and advertisements were displayed outside the MCC building, Islamabad dry port premises as well as Air Freight Unit (AFU) Islamabad along with the list of goods which was being put to auction.

He said that total 39 lots were sold on handsome amount, adding that 13 lots of seized goods were sold in Rs4.90 million while four non-duty paid vehicles were sold in Rs 4.72 million while Rs9.62 million were generated through auction of these goods and vehicles.
