Customs gets another 14-day judicial remand of ‘uncooperative’ Ayyan Ali

RAWALPINDI: A customs court on Saturday extended for the third time the judicial remand of supermodel Ayyan Ali in the money smuggling case.

The model, who is imprisoned at the Adiala Jail, was presented in the customs court on Saturday. During the hearing, customs officials presented a report regarding investigation carried out in the case so far.

The case was heard by Judge Chaudhry Mumtaz who expressed his anger over the failure to present the charge sheet against Ayyan.

Customs officials told the court that Ayyan is not cooperating in the investigation, on which the court extended Ayyan’s judicial remand by 14 days and adjourned the hearing until April 24.

Meanwhile, a news channel reported that Ayyan had promised her fellow inmates in prison that once she is freed from jail, she will shoot a film on prison life in Pakistan, highlighting the plight of prisoners.
