Customs Gilgit Baltistan collects $676,242  through exports from Sust border

ISLAMABAD: Collectorate of Customs Gilgit-Baltistan (Sust) exported 888.62 metric ton of goods through 177 trucks, and the total value of exported goods was $676,242 from Pakistan to China in financial year of 2015-16.

Collector Gilgit-Baltistan Ali Raza told Customs Today that the collectorate collected a total revenue of $1,864,331 and 366 trucks travelled through Sust border during the last two financial years.

He said that during the month of April 2016 the exports were zero due to road block and land sliding, but after that the export gained momentum and reached at $676242.

He said that total revenue generated through Sust border in financial year 2014-15 was $603655 and 186 trucks carrying goods crossed the border and the total exported goods were recorded at 659.96 metric tons. Collector Ali Raza said that in last three months of financial year of 2014-15 the GB exports were $29498.

He said that during last three months of financial year 2015-16 the collectorate get revenue under different heads . He said during the month of April the roads were blocked, while in the month of May only 10 truck carrying goods were 65 matric tons while revenue generated stood at $91818.

He said in last month of financial year June, 2015-16 the collectorate generated revenue of $ 61260, while 5 trucks carrying different goods were crossed through Sust border and total 66 matric tons of goods were exported to China.
