Customs GPO recovers 1492g heroin from parcel booked for Holland

LAHORE: The staff of Customs Collectorate Preventive, Lahore posted at GPO, Lahore foiled an attempt of heroin smuggling weighing 1492 grams concealed in a parcel under the garb of kitchen-wares. As per details, the GPO Customs authorities received a parcel which was booked for Netherland.

The customs sources said that the parcel was carrying address on one Allah Ditta resident of House No 16, Street 69, Kamal Street. Mohallah Madho Lal Hussain, Baghbanpura, Lahore while it was also carrying ID no 35201-884919-3 and mobile phone 03347981685.

The customs sources said that on suspicion the customs authorities opened the parcel and recovered the heroine tactfully hidden in kitchen-wares.

The sources said that when the customs authorities after registering FIR against the culprits started investigations. It was revealed that the address, phone and ID card no were fake.

The sources said that customs investigation and prosecution team was raiding to arrest the accused involved in the crime, however, till now no culprit was arrested.

It was reported that the total value of the 1492 grams of heroin was determined at Rs 0.7 million in Pakistan while its international market value is over Rs 20 million.

It was also said that the customs I&P has formed a special team to bring the culprits to the court of law.
