KARACHI: The Customs Gwadar has seized 8,000 liters of smuggled Iranian diesel and a huge quantity of foreign origin cigarettes in separate operations.
Sources told Customs Today that the customs authorities received information about some smuggling attempts after which they constituted a team which intercepted a vehicle at Gadani Beach and recovered 8,000 liters of smuggled Iranian diesel. The Customs team arrested the driver and registered a case against him.
During another operation, the Customs team raided a godown in Mohammad Saleh area and recovered a huge quantity of smuggled cigarettes. It is pertinent to mention here that the Customs team had recovered a huge quantity of smuggled watches during a previous raid on the same godown.
