PESHAWAR: The Customs Healthcare Society (CHS) distributed relief goods including food items worth Rs 500 million among the internally displaced people (IDPs) of North Waziristan Agency.
Dr Asif Mahmood Jah, Customs Collector Peshawar and President of the Customs Healthcare Society, told Customs Today that the society would not let the IDPs in the lurch in their hour of need. The relief goods include 1,600 solar fans new clothes, shoes, mates, mosquito nets and medicines.
The CHS has also set up three medical centres in FR Bannu, Bannu City and Lakki Marwat. Similarly, a mobile ambulance had also been sent to remote areas where more than 5,000 patients were examined and provided with medicines free of cost.
Dr Jah informed that the society would celebrate the upcoming Defence Day with the IDPs and different contests and declamation would be conducted to entertain and educate the military-operation affected families.
Dr Jah said that the Custom Healthcare Society would also reconstruct damaged houses of the IDPs after their repatriation.
He informed that the CHS had also set up medical camps in various temples and churches for the welfare of members of minority community.
