Customs Hyderabad seizes 31 smart LEDs

HYDERABAD: Customs Intelligence and Investigation Hyderabad foils a bid to smuggle 31 smart LEDs in Hyderabad. The market value of seized items are Rs 1.3 million.

Sources told Customs Today that Director Intelligence and Investigations  Karachi Asif Marghoob Siddiqui  directed  Field Intelligence Unit of Hyderabad to conduct  raids under the  supervision  of deputy  director Muhammad Tayyab the curb smuggling. After which deputy  superintendent FIU Sikander  Hayat  Khanzada constituted a raiding party comprising Irfan Khan seizing  officer, Syed Noor Muhammad Shah seizing  officer,  Yawar Abbas  and sepoys Noshad, Hanif  Somroo, Azam  Chandio  who took part  in  operation

Sources said that FIU Hyderabad  unit  team  intercepted  a vehicle of Waqar Kareem  Goods  Transport  Company in Hyderabad  and recovered  31 LED smart  TVs which were being smuggled to Lahore.

During   the   second  raid   the Customs intelligence  and  investigation   seized  smuggled Iranian chocolate   and  other   goods items  worth Rs 6,00,000 during a crackdown in Hyderabad

The officials asked the drivers of both vehicles to produce  legal documents  regarding possession of smuggled items but they failed to provide the same.

After making seizure report the Customs team deposited the confiscated items in state warehouse Hyderabad.
