Customs I&I arrests notorious smuggler Nabi Baksh after cancellation of bail

LAHORE: Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation (I&) team arrested notorious smuggler Nabi Baksh after court cancelled his bail after Lahore High Court cancelled his bail.

The pre-arrest bail of aforementioned smuggler has been dismissed by the LHC after hearing arguments from accused and the department.

Director Customs Intelligence and Investigation Lahore, Saima Shahzad and Additional Director (I&I), Ch. Rizwan Bashir Kalair along with teams of (I&I) Lahore, Enforcement Lahore and Enforcement Multan were present in the court room on the directions of Director General (I&I) Faiz Ahmad, to press the matter in light of facts/evidences gathered by the Directorate.  The honourable court gave observations and advice regarding IOs performance to the Director Intelligence.

The Directorate of (I&I) Customs Lahore has lodged 15 FIRs against the accused involving goods of PKR 597 Million for which his arrest was required.

The accused after his arrest was moved to Customs House Lahore for joint investigation by (I&I) Lahore, Enforcement Lahore and Enforcement Multan for their individual criminal cases against the accused.

The Director General Intelligence & Investigation while appreciating the effort of officers directed them to streamline working of I&P wing for more effective investigations.
