In addition to ASO performance, the Enforcement branch also performed exceptionally well when compared to last year performance.

On the instructions of Director Asad Raza Rizvi, Additional Director Hasan Fareed and team enhanced  vigilance and strengthened intelligence network, which yielded exceptional results.

During the CFY, the Enforcement branch made out 31 cases involving Rs 2.094 billion as compared to last year’s 28 cases involving Rs 1.226 billion as duty and taxes.

It is also informed that 50 cases valuing to Rs 324.5 million out of 133 seizures made out by ASO during the CFY have been adjudged in favour of this Directorate by the Adjudicating authorities and the rest are sub-judice as yet.

The success of decided cases in itself bespeaks of the special efforts rendered by the Directorate. It is relevant to mention here that the Directorate rendered unremitting and strenuous efforts to intercept the smuggling of contraband goods and vehicles despite the fact that the Directorate has shortage of human and financial resources.
