Customs I&I, PMSA seize narcotics worth $100m

KARACHI: Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation (I&I) with the assistance of Pakistan Maritime Security Agency (PMSA) impounded 429 kilograms of heroin and ice crystal from a fishing boat in Arabian Sea.

Sources told that Director Khalil Yousufani received authentic information about smuggling of narcotics. He constituted raiding team under the supervision of Additional Director Rana Tasleem, Deputy Director Toseef Gorchani PSMA officers Commoddre Salman, Lft Commodor Imran, Lft Muhammad Ahmad Intelligence Officers Sadiq Hussain, Adil Alam and Liaquat Ali.

The seized narcotics, including 202 kilograms of heroin powder 227 kilograms of of ice crystal worth Rs16 billion ($100 million approximately) in the international market.

It is necessary to mention here that Director Khalil Yousufani, Additional Director Rana Tasleem and Deputy Director Toseef Gorchani have tightened intelligence network and enhanced vigilance.

Director Customs Intelligence and Investigation Khalil Yousafani directed all anti-smuggling squads to adopt zero tolerance policy against smugglers of narcotics which is causing huge loss to our national kitty.
