Customs I&I recovers Chinese mobile phones worth Rs40m

LAHORE: Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation (I&I) team recovered huge quantity of Chinese origin mobile phones from a godown owned by M/s Seen Ming Tek Private Limited near Sagian Bridge.

Sources told Customs Today that Director Customs Intelligence and Investigation Rubab Sikandar received credible information that the above said company is importing mobile phones from China without approval of Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA). She constituted a raiding squad who raided the godown of mobile company located near Sagian Bridge.

During raid customs team recovered23,671 Chinese mobile phones. Customs team sealed the godown and shifted the mobile phones on three Mazda trucks to the premises of Customs Intelligence and Investigation.

It is necessary to mention here that Director Customs Intelligence and Investigation Rubab Sikandar directed all anti-smuggling squads to adopt zero tolerance policy towards smuggling attempts. She directed that anyone found involved in smuggling should be dealt with iron hands.
