Customs I&I seizes smuggled goods worth Rs110m

LAHORE: Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation (I&I) has seized two containers of notorious smuggler Nabhi Bakhash and recovered smuggled goods worth Rs110 million.

Sources told Customs Today that the information was received through Additional Director Hassan Farid regarding movement of smuggled goods and Director Asad Rizvi ordered to carry out the operation.

During the operation, a 22 wheeler trailer coming from Khanewal was seized, which contained one ton dry milk and 7 tons of Italian origin gent suiting.

Approximate value of seized goods is Rs50 millions involving taxes of Rs29.9 million.

Moreover, a container of Nabhi Bakhash was detained from Sahiwal having tyres, skimmed milk and clothes. The value of seized goods is approximately Rs60 million.

It is pertinent to mention that Customs Intelligence and Investigation Lahore has made seizures of worth Rs2 billion during first four months of current fiscal year.
