Customs impounds Mercedes-Benz worth Rs 8m

ISLAMABAD: The Model Customs Collectorate impounded a non-duty paid Mercedes-Benz model S550 worth Rs 8 million from Sector E-11/4 during an action.

Following information regarding a non-duty paid vehicle, Islamabad Customs Collector Dr Arslan Suuctageen directed Deputy Collector Shahid Jan to form a team for impounding the said vehicle.

The deputy collector formed a team under the supervision of Investigation and Prosecution Superintendent Zargam Dil. The team intercepted the vehicle in the area of E-11/4 which was playing on road without any registration number.

The driver of the vehicle fled from the scene, while the vehicle has been impounded under the customs laws. The officials have started investigations to trace the accused person.
