Customs impounds NDP vehicles worth Rs70m till March 15

ISLAMABAD: Collectorate of Customs Additional Muhammad Ashfaq Khan said that the car cell of the Collectorate impounded non-duty paid vehicles worth Rs70 million from December to 15th March.

Talking with Customs Today the additional collector said that the campaign against possessors of Non Duty Paid (NDP) vehicles have geared up and no relief will be given to people who are causing loss for national exchequer.

He said that till 15th March, the car section impounded 2 of NDP Suzuki Swifts worth Rs5 million as well as seized 7 vehicles during month of February including Toyota Hilux Surf, Mercedes Benz car, Mazda T-3500, Mazda T-3500, Suzuki Swift car, Toyota Passo car and Toyota swift car worth  Rs22.28 million.

Ashfaq told that during month of January 2019, the car section seized 5 NDP vehicles comprising 02 Toyota Hilux Surfs, Toyota Land Cruiser, Vitz car and Mercedes car worth Rs25 million while the car section seized 5 non-duty paid vehicles including Suzuki Swift car, three Toyota Hilux Surf, Toyota Filder car, Mitsubishi Intercooler worth Rs19.6 million.

Additional Collector Mohammad Ashfaq said that he directed all anti-smuggling squads to adopt zero tolerance policy towards owners of non-duty paid vehicles.
