Customs impounds Toyota car, arrest smuggler

LAHORE: Customs Intelligence and Investigation seized Rs 1 million non-customs paid Toyota G Corolla car and arrested a smuggler.

According to details, customs inspector Malik Mubeen and his team on information intercepted the above said vehicle at Wahdat Road and held Toyota G Corolla who is a resident of Sibi in Lahore.

Customs official sources told Customs Today that the arrest of the accused person is important as it will enable the directorate to reach to the main suppliers of the non-customs paid cars. They added that FIR has been lodged and further investigations are under way.

However, the accused Jamil told Customs Today that he came to Lahore to visit and he was not aware of the fact that his car was non-customs paid and that he purchased the car for his own use.
