Customs impounds Toyota Hilux worth Rs 1m

SIALKOT: The Customs Intelligence and Investigation, Gujranwala has impounded a vehicle, Toyota Hilux Surf worth Rs 1 million during an action.

Reportedly, Customs Intelligence Superintendent Muhammad Akmal and Investigation Officer Majid Raza were performing their duties on Grand Trunk (GT) Road when they intercepted a vehicle for checking.

The officials asked driver to show documents regarding the customs clearance of the vehicle but he could not produce any document; therefore, the officials impounded the vehicle under the customs laws.

The vehicle has been shifted to the office of Customs Intelligence for further investigations. The value of the vehicle has been estimated at Rs 1 million.
