Customs Inspector Mumraiz Ali dies while chasing smuggler’s car

PESHAWAR: Inspector Mumraiz Ali of Pakistan Customs Nowshera Mobile Squad died in an accident last night while chasing a smuggler’s vehicle on GT road.

Safder Hussain, a customs official, informed Customs Today that at 11:00 pm Inspector Mumraiz Ali embraced martyrdom when customs vehicle met an accident while chasing a smuggler’s car.

The customs mobile squad signaled a car to stop but, instead of stopping the vehicle, driver sped up the car. The mobile squad started chasing the vehicle and met a horrible accident claiming the life of said inspector and injuring other colleagues.

The funeral prayers of the martyred customs official will be offered at his native village of Pubbi, Charts Road, Nowshara today (Tuesday).

Collector Customs Gul Rahman and high-ups of Pakistan Customs have expressed condolence and sympathy with the family of martyred Inspector Mumraiz Ali and taken notice of the increase in the accidents with Customs Police on duty.

Collector Gul Rahman also directed the Customs Department to facilitate the families of officials who die while performing duties. The collector termed him a brave solider of the land who sacrificed his life for eliminating the smugglers.

The Collector Customs also announced a package for the survivors of the martyred Inspector Mumraiz Ali.
