Customs Intelligence, collectorates joint conference postponed

ISLAMABAD: Following the prevailing uncertainty in country, the Directorate General of Customs Intelligence and Investigation has postponed the joint conference of customs directors and collectors going to be held on March 29 (today).

The conference was to be headed by Customs Intelligence DG Imtiaz Ahmad Khan and now it will be arranged in next week, while the date will be announced in a couple of days.

Representative of custom collectorates and Customs Intelligence from Peshawar, Sialkot, Faisalabad, Lahore, capital territory and from other areas will attend the meeting to discuss all aspects of anti-smuggling campaign.

In the meeting, the DG will review the ongoing anti-smuggling campaign, which had been launched on February 17, 2016, besides discussing that how customs collectorates can curb the smuggling of non-customs paid goods. It will also be discussed in meeting that for how long this campaign should be continued and what measures can be taken to make it more effective.
