Customs Intelligence DG Imtiaz to hold meeting on anti-smuggling tomorrow

ISLAMABAD: Directorate General of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Director General Imtiaz Ahmad Khan will preside over an important meeting on March 29, 2016 (Tuesday) to discuss ongoing anti-smuggling campaign.

The meeting will be held at Customs Intelligence Headquarters, Islamabad and officials of Model Customs Collectorates and intelligence from all over the country will participate in the meeting.

Representative of custom collectorate Peshawar, Sialkot, Faisalabad, Lahore, and capital territory will attend the meeting to discuss all aspects of anti-smuggling campaign.

In the meeting, the DG will review the ongoing anti-smuggling campaign, which had been launched on February 17, 2016, besides discussing that how customs collectorates can curb the smuggling of non-customs paid goods. It will also be discussed in meeting that for how long this campaign should be continued and what measures can be taken to make it more effective.

Officials of Islamabad Customs said that anti-smuggling activity played an important role to save the national kitty and local traders.
