MULTAN: Directorate Customs Intelligence and Investigation has fetched Rs.22.52 million through successful auction of non-duty paid impounded vehicles and miscellaneous goods.
According to details, Customs Intelligence and Investigation conducted public auction of non-customs paid vehicles and various confiscated smuggled goods in the Raja Pur office near Edhi village.
Customs Intelligence and Investigation presented 21 various lots of confiscated vehicles for public auction and 14 different lots of smuggled goods for the bidding process.
Customs Intelligence and Investigation sold out 18 different confiscated vehicles including Toyota Vitz, Toyota Hiace Wagon, Toyota Land Cruiser V8, Toyota Ram, Toyota Altas, Suzuki Swift, Toyota Fielder, Toyota Premio ,Toyota Corolla G and others Toyota Corolla (G),Toyota Hiace van, Passo car worth Rs19.35 million after bidding process. Mercedes Benz and two other vehicles were rejected during the auction process due to fewer prices offered in the public auction.
The Customs Intelligence and Investigation has successfully sold out four various lots of miscellaneous goods during auction including branded tyres, power generators and LCD. Miscellaneous goods were sold out in Rs.3.17 million during auction.
Almost 13 various lots of furnace oil, welding rods, iron scrap, foreign origin cigarettes and various auto parts were rejected due to fewer price offered by bidders.
The auction was held under the supervision of Deputy Director Khial Muhammad Khan along with Senior Intelligence Officer Malik Muhammad Nasir and others to ensure the process of auction in a transparent manner and all goods and vehicles were sold on offers more than reserved price. Auctioneer Muhammad Akram conducted the auction of confiscated vehicles and goods.
