Customs Intelligence impounds 12 non-duty paid vehicles worth Rs 73m till Feb 21

ISLAMABAD: Directorate General Customs Intelligence and Investigations of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Islamabad has impounded 12 non-duty paid vehicles amounting to more than Rs 73 million, under section 16 of the Customs Act 1969, during various anti-smuggling operations from 1st February to 21st February.

Director General Customs Intelligence Shaukat Ali expressed his satisfaction on the overall performance of the car cell and urged the staff to expedite their efforts to impound NDP vehicles.

According to the sources total appraised CIF value of the 12 vehicles is Rs27.88 million while evaded duty and taxes amount is Rs73.87 millions.

The impounded vehicles includes used BMW car chassis No WBAAL 32070AZ17986, appraised CIF value Rs 2.77 million, evaded duty and taxes (appraised) Rs7.35 million, Toyota Land Cruiser, appraised CIF value Rs2.65 million and evaded duty and taxes (appraised) Rs7.023 million, used Mitsubishi Pajero, appraised CIF Rs1.85 million and evaded duty and taxes (appraised) amount Rs. 4.9 million, used Toyota Hilux Surf appraised CIF value Rs2.087 million and evaded duty and taxes (appraised) amount Rs. 5.527 million, used Toyota Land Cruiser appraised CIF value Rs3.659 million and evaded duty and taxes (appraised) Rs9.687 million, Toyota land cruiser appraised CIF value Rs.2.617 millions and evaded duty and taxes (appraised) amount Rs.6.929 millions, used Mitsubishi Pajero chassis no. CLO49WLJ 401193 appraised CIF value Rs1.95 million and evaded duty and taxes (appraised) amount Rs. 4.151 million, Honda Accord appraised CIF Rs. 2.014 million and evaded duty and taxes (appraised) amount Rs. 5.3 million, Toyota Hilux Surf appraised CIF Rs1.676 million and evaded duty and taxes (appraised) amount Rs5.527 million and used Toyota Land Cruiser appraised value Rs2.468 million and evaded duty and taxes (appraised) amount Rs 6.536 million.
