LAHORE: Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation on Friday seized a Honda Accord car model 2002 which was illegally imported into the country, sources told Customs Today.
As per details, the staff of the Drectorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigations, Lahore, intercepted a used foreign origin Honda Accord car bearing registration No BFH-756/Sindh near Main Boulevard Gulberg, Lahore. The car was reported as non-customs paid and non-duty paid one.
The occupant of the vehicle introduced himself as Awis Khan son of Arshad Khan who is a resident of the PCSIR, Lahore, the sources said, adding that on demand, the occupant produced registration book but failed to produce documents, showing the legal import of the vehicle or lawful purchase of the vehicle.
The sources said that the Hnoda Accord car was physically checked as which particulars included as make and model Honda Accord car 2002, chassis no CL9 1000417, engine no 10004669 HP 2354cc.
The car color is pearl white while it has also been installed CD player and back view camera, the sources added.
The official sources said that the vehicle was intercepted on the information of Director Zeba Hai Azhar, the newly posted head of the Customs Intelligence and Investigation while the operation as conducted under the supervision of Deputy Director Ali Zeb Khan. Car cell Incharge Agha Sultan and other inspectors were also part of the raiding team.
The customs authorities have registered a case and started further investigations in this case under the Customs Act 1969.
