Customs Intelligence impounds Toyota Coaster worth Rs 3.5m

ISLAMABAD: The Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation has impounded a non-customs paid Toyota Coaster worth Rs 3.5 million from Rawalpindi.

According to details, the Customs Intelligence officials intercepted a vehicle in the jurisdiction of Rawalpindi and asked the driver to show documents regarding the customs clearance of the vehicle but he remained failed to produce any documents.

Therefore, the officials impounded the vehicle bearing chassis No BB42-0001115 under the prevailing customs laws. The team of the Customs Intelligence conducted the raid under the supervision of Superintendent Javed Jehangiri. A case has been registered against the suspect.

Officials said that the Customs Intelligence and Investigation has put focus on non-duty paid vehicles, adding that raids were being conducted on a daily basis.
