SIALKOT: The Customs Intelligence and Investigation impounded a vehicle, Toyota Hilux Surf Jeep, on customs duty default.
Reportedly, Customs Intelligence Deputy Director Zanib Mehmood deployed Intelligence Officer Majid Raza on Grand Trunk (GT) Road to check non-customs paid vehicles.
The intelligence officer told Customs Today that he was checking vehicles along with his team on said road and intercepted a vehicle, Toyota Hilux Surf Jeep bearing No.BRG-951. The team asked the driver about documents regarding legal import of the vehicle, but he remained fail to do the same.
Therefore, the team impounded the vehicle under custom laws and shifted it to the intelligence office, besides registering a case as per customs law against the accused person.
