Customs Intelligence impounds Toyota Mark-II

ISLAMABAD: Following the directions of Director General Imtiaz Ahmad Khan, Customs Intelligence and Investigation impounded a non-duty paid Toyota Mark-II worth Rs 764,542 involving duty/taxes amounting to Rs 1.96 million.

As per details, Customs Intelligence car cell director received information that a non-duty paid vehicle would pass nearby the Rawalpindi Court on which he formed a raiding party comprising Intelligence Officer Gull Nawaz and others under the supervision Javed Jehangiri.

The team established check post  near court and intercepted the said vehicle riding by a person named Shahid Zafar and asked the driver to show documents regarding legal import of the vehicle but he could not do the same.

Therefore, the officials impounded the vehicle under the customs laws and registered a case against Shahid Zafar, besides sending case to the Customs Adjudication.
