Customs intelligence impounds two trucks carrying smuggled Chinese goods

MULTAN: The Customs   Intelligence and Investigation officials have impounded two trucks carrying smuggled goods.

The officials impounded one truck worth Rs 1.5 million from Qadirpur Rawaa. The officials impounded the second truck coming from Lahore. The truck was carrying smuggled crockery of Chinese origin worth Rs 2 million. The truck and loaded crockery were seized for nonpayment of customs duty.

The Customs Intelligence and Investigation launched a joint operation with the Anti-Smuggling Organisation against a 40-feet container loaded with imported garments and crockery.

The container was seized near Gulgasht Road and the customs intelligence asked the owner to provide the original documents showing clearance of import consignment from Karachi.

A first information report has been lodged against the accused and further investigation was underway.
