Customs Intelligence recovers 13kg hashish worth 1.5m from Corolla

KARACHI: The Karachi Customs Intelligence Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) and constabulary conducted a joint operation at Super Highway and seized 13kg of high quality hashish (chars) worth 1.5 million. The contraband was stuffed in the back lower side of Corolla car.

The ASO Director Intelligence Margoob Ahmed Siddiqui, Additional Director Nadeem Ahsan and Assistant Director Kaleemullah assigned the task to a team headed by Deputy Superintendent Hajji Aslam, Inspector Pervez Ahmed Zardari with others. The team has intercepted a suspicious car on Karachi Highway and found packets of hashish while a search spree. The intelligence team impounds the car and lodged FIR against unknown owners.

Earlier, Karachi ASO Director Margoob Ahmed Siddiqui has formed three teams under the supervisions of Additional Director Nadeem Ahsan and Assistant Director Kaleemullah to pursue the agenda of anti-smuggling activities in the area.

During last three months, ASO department has seized about 100,000 liters of smuggled diesel while three to four cases of liquor seizure were also registered. The total amount of recovered contraband in last three months estimated to nearly Rs1.1 billion.

In order to cut the funding lines of terrorists, Karachi Customs has been taking every measure to curb the smuggling in city. Near future will be hosting many mega operations against smugglers.
