Customs Intelligence recovers non duty paid electronics items

FAISALABAD: The Customs Intelligence and Investigation has recovered smuggled electronic items worth Rs18,00,000 involving customs duty and taxes to the tune of Rs9,89,578 during a crackdown.

Sources told to Customs Today, that Deputy Director Customs Intelligence Syed Ittrat Hussain received information regarding the smuggling attempt. He formed a customs team comprising Intelligence Officer Muhammad Siddique, Arshad Ali, Muhammad Saleem and Liaqat Ali, Mussdaq Ahmed, Muzamil Hussain, Bilal and Havaldar Muhammad Iqbal.

he customs team asked accused person who identified as Muhammad Shafiq son of Muhammad Boota to produce legal documents regarding possession of items but they failed to provide the same. The seizure report submitted to the adjudication department for further investigation.
