Customs Intelligence recovers smuggled chili, dry fruit

SIALKOT: The Customs Intelligence and Investigation Department Gujranwala division has impounded Indian origin red chili, black chili and dry fruit from a bus on GT Road.

According to details, Deputy Director Customs Intelligence and Investigation Gujranwala division Zainab Mehmood received information about smuggling attempt, after which she formed a team under the supervision of intelligence officer Majid Raza and enhanced surveillance on GT Road.

The team asked the driver of the vehicle to produce legal documents regarding possession of seized items, but they failed to produce any relevant legal documents.

The customs team seized the items and forwarded the case to customs adjudication for further proceedings.
