Customs Intelligence recovers smuggled goods worth Rs 260m in December

ISLAMABAD: The Directorate General Customs Intelligence and Investigation Islamabad seized Rs 260 million smuggled goods, registered 90 cases against the smugglers, and arrested seven accused persons during the month of December 2015.

According to details, during the course of anti-smuggling activities in December, the Customs Intelligence recovered smuggled goods which include 129,093 yards cloth worth Rs 16.0 million, smuggled tea worth Rs 344,012 while 31 offending vehicles worth Rs 45.6 million were also seized during December 2015.

Moreover, the Customs Intelligence seized 117,100 liters of smuggled diesel worth Rs 9.06 million, electronics goods worth Rs 13.2 million, tyres, tubes and auto parts worth Rs 11.14 million during the anti-smuggling drives in December 2015.
