Customs intelligence recovers smuggled goods worth Rs 780.8m in three months

KARACHI: The Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation recovered smuggled goods and narcotics worth Rs 780.8 million from January to March.

Sources informed Customs Today that Deputy Director Customs Intelligence Khayal Mohammad formed different teams which seized all these goods during various crackdowns. The seized items include 5,000 kilograms of charas, 200 LEDs, 300 monitors, 500 bottles of smuggled wine, foreign origin cigarettes, 22,000 foreign origin smuggled cloth, 600 batteries, 2000 memory cards, 500 Laptops, 1200 Andoraid mobile phones, 10 heavy generators and 4 kilograms opium. Sources said that the customs authorities also seized trucks, five buses and 30 different types of vehicles.
