Customs Intelligence seeks LEAs’ assistance to arrest alleged smuggler Shakirullah

ISLAMABAD: The Directorate General of Customs Intelligence and Investigation, Rawalpindi, has sought assistance of police, Rangers, FC and other law enforcement agencies (LEAs) to arrest notorious smuggler, Shakirullah, who is wanted in various cases of smuggling.

As per details provided by the Customs Intelligence to LEAs, Shakirullah is operating passenger buses run between Peshawar and Nowshera for smuggling of foreign origin goods.

He uses passenger buses bearing registration numbers, 5410, 1492, 7625, 7710 and 1710 for smuggling of items from Peshawar to Nowshera by using Rawalpindi GT Road route.

Two FIRs No 02/2012 and 22/2014 are registered against Shakirullah but he is still at large with the support of some influenced personalities.

The Customs Intelligence has asked the LEAs to provide support for arresting the notorious smuggler who is involved in smuggling of various non-duty paid items causing a loss of millions of rupees to national exchequer. The Customs Intelligence is taking measures to arrest all absconders in smuggling cases.
