Customs Intelligence seized vehicles and goods Rs.21.30 million in January

MULTAN: Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Multan Range Office has impounded vehicles and miscellaneous goods worth Rs21.30 million during January of on-going fiscal year 2016-17.

Deputy Director Customs Intelligence and Investigation Multan Range Office Abdul Mueed Kanjoo carried out various anti-smuggling operations against smuggled goods and vehicles in the territory on the directions of Director General Shaukat Ali.

Afghan route closure weighs on Pakistan-Central Asia trade, exports fall 9%, imports plunge 88%

During the above said period Customs Intelligence teams detected 12 seizure cases during anti-smuggling campaign in the Jurisdiction. There were two seizure cases of vehicles and auto parts worth Rs5 million formed in the Multan region throughout month of January in their different action.  As many as 10 different vehicles of Rs15.10 million were impounded in the month of January.

Field Intelligence Unit of Dera Ghazi Khan has formed six various seizure cases of vehicles and goods worth Rs.10.8 million in their anti-smuggling activities in January. Customs Intelligence and Investigation has enhanced monitoring of the goods and vehicles at the Taunsa region to curtail smuggling.

Customs Intelligence and Investigation has seized almost Rs5.50 million of vehicles and articles in their various anti-smuggling actions in the Sadiqabad region to restrain smuggling in Jurisdiction. Field Intelligence Unit of Sadiqabad has captured three various vehicles including Suzuki KIA, Suzuki Swift and Toyota Corolla X during crackdown in the January.

Deputy Director Abdul Mueed Kanjoo has enhanced cooperation with other law enforcement agencies to curb the menace of smuggling from Jurisdiction and enhance the patrolling of the Customs staff.
