LAHORE: The Customs Intelligence and Investigation on Wednesday seized contraband LED TVs, cloth and hardware items worth Rs 5.6 million, official sources told Customs Today.
The sources said that the non-customs paid goods were loaded on a bus and were owned by a smuggler Mehran Khan.
They said that the Customs Intelligence and Anti-Smuggling Squad, following information received through Director Imran Saud, intercepted the bus in Lahore, but the driver fled. However, he was held near Pindi Bhattian.
The said bus was held fourth times in the past and three FIRs are already registered against it. The bus was released on bank guarantee every time.
The customs authorities have arrested two suspects involved in the illegal activity.
