KARACHI: Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation, Quetta, has seized 18,000 liter Iranian oil during a successful raid while two men were arrested.
Director Customs Intelligence and Investigation Irfanur Rehman received information that some elements were planning to smuggle Iranian diesel. On this, the director informed the Customs intelligence team about the information and instructed them to curb the smuggling.
The team established check points at Quetta Northern Road and started the checking of vehicles. During the checking of vehicles the team intercepted a suspicious oil tanker. The team asked the driver about customs clearance documents of the oil but he remained failed to provide the same. The Customs officials seized the oil while two persons were arrested included driver. Officials said that the value of seized oil Rs1 million.
