Philippines Bureau of Customs seizes fake cigarettes worth P2b

Customs Intelligence seizes non duty paid cigarettes, smoking flavour

FAISALABAD: The Directorate of Intelligence and Investigation has seized non duty paid cigarettes, foil paper for hooka and shisha smoking flavour of different brands during an action at delivery Godown of M/s Pak International Goods Transport Company.

Sources told Customs Today that in pursuance of information shared by Deputy Director Rana Irfan Shouqat constituted a special team to crackdown foreign origin cigarettes and smoking flavour.

The team raided at delivery godown of M/s Pak International Goods Transport Company and recovered 250 cartons of non duty paid cigarettes and shisha smoking falvour of different brands and arrested the owner of the warehouse who was identified as Muhammad Saqib. The market value of the seized cigarettes, foil paper and flavour is Rs 8 million involving duty and taxes to the tune of Rs5.8 million.

The team participated in this seizure operation included Intelligence Officer Mohsin Raza Shah, Mansoor Nasir, Sepoy Liaquat Ali, Shouqat Hayat, Israr Ahmed, and Zeeshan.
